TACTICAL MESH RADIOS WITH UNRIVALED DEPENDABILITY AND RANGE

Using proprietary MN-MIMO technology, Silvus StreamCaster MANET radios enable law enforcement agencies to quickly deploy a private and secure Mesh Network, creating an integrated Tactical Bubble that unifies all of your operational assets. The Tactical Bubble is ideal for situations where LMR and/or cellular networks or infrastructure is overwhelmed, compromised or non-existent. Without the need for a dedicated comms infrastructure, the Tactical Bubble provides operational flexibility from complex urban environments to rural areas.

When accurate snap judgments are a part of every operation, your response teams must be able to share critical video, voice and IP data that helps your teams operate more quickly, safely and systematically. Silvus StreamCaster MANET radios and MN-MIMO waveform provide the vital link between all your assets, from ground personnel and in-building operations to manned and unmanned aircraft, mobile command centers and HQ, and everywhere in between.

STATUS QUO: Law Enforcement Communication Challenges

Today’s digital Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) video
transmission systems have proven to be a reliable alternative to yesterday’s analog Frequency
Modulation (FM) systems. However, traditional COFDM systems are designed to transmit video
and audio in only one direction. Any operations requiring a return channel for PTZ camera
control or intercom audio would require separate wireless links to handle the signals.

With the proliferation of cellular and WiFi network-connected cameras, teams tasked with
security and public safety have found simplicity in the setup and operation of video surveillance
equipment and other IP sensors. Wherever you have a network connection, you can collect or view
video or sensor data in real-time.

However, COTS IP transmission solutions come with limitations. WiFi is limited in range,
performs poorly outdoors, and is prone to interference. 3G and 4G modems have inadequate
upload speeds, and cannot be relied upon during large public gatherings such as sporting events,
parades, or in times of crisis.

Silvus StreamCaster MANET radios and MN-MIMO waveform create powerfully flexible high-
bandwidth tactical mesh networks – providing law enforcement agencies with the performance of
COFDM and the ease and flexibility of IP, all within a private and secure network that goes
where the mission takes you.

Integrated tactical bubble: Law enforcement Radio applications

Silvus’ advanced StreamCaster MANET radios and MN-MIMO waveform combine to create the Tactical Bubble, a self-forming and adaptive mesh network designed for mission-critical operations in complex environments where communications can’t afford to fail. Teams can quickly set up a Tactical Bubble that connects aircraft to ground personnel, command center, vehicles and manned & unmanned assets. Law Enforcement and Public Safety agencies can rapidly deploy the Tactical Bubble through various applications including:

  • Event Security

    • Connect and coordinate air, ground and mobile assets during SEAR events, with live video and data feeds on their ATAK-enabled devices.
  • Perimeter Surveillance & Border Security

    • Connect manned/unmanned aerial, sensors, vehicles and ground personnel throughout the area of operation for enhanced situational awareness.
  • Covert/ Concealed Surveillance

    • Connect surveillance cameras, mobile command units, airborne platforms and technical investigators with real-time high-definition video, data and voice communications.
  • SWAT/ Quick Reaction Teams

    • Quickly mobilize teams, distributing live streaming video and sensor data from manned/unmanned air and ground assets to tactical operators and mobile command center.
  • On-the-Move Networking

    • Silvus Tactical Bubble is designed to operate in high-speed, mobile, long- range and multi-path environments, allowing teams to connect on-the-move air and ground vehicles.
  • Air-to-ground Comms Relay

    • Easily connect manned/unmanned air assets, ground personnel and vehicles through one network, allowing for the bi-directional sharing of actionable information that improves operational effectiveness at a greater stand-off range.
  • EOD & SWAT Ground Robots

    • Extend the range of C2 and EO/IR, LiDAR, CBRNE and other sensor links throughout complex indoor and Sub-T environments.
  • HQ Backhaul

    • All radio feeds from the Tactical Bubble can be monitored and controlled from HQ – with video stored and displayed locally and disseminated to remote users. In addition, Silvus StreamCaster radios can be combined with 3G/4G Modems, WiFi and SATCOM to create Tactical Backhaul Gateways – getting your intelligence data to wherever it needs to go.
